Ava Montes started drawing “seriously” when she was ten years old and hasn’t stopped since.

When she is not posting art on Instagram (@doodle_baron), taking commissions, or thinking up literary analysis essays for her favorite Gothic monster novels (Bram Stoker’s Dracula won the title of Current Favorite), she can often be found at the beach or playing cards with her two beloved sisters.

While she is mostly Hawai’i-based, Ava also attends the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. After graduation, she hopes to travel the world. As a self-taught artist, English writing major, and reader of 156 books in a year when she was fourteen, she is very excited to contribute to the Books in Homes charity.

Jibbernocky is her first illustrated book; she is working on writing a novel or two and hopes to publish one day. She does everything for the glory of God.
